Cycle route through the border region near Huijbergen

Around the Belgian Essen you will experience a day full of variety on the saddle. You start the route in the Rucphense Bossen, after which you cycle a few kilometers through a beautiful mix of forest and meadows. At the border crossing you pass the Strontpaal Essen. The story goes that customs officers used to 'hide' behind this stone to do their business. From junction 59 you cycle through the Wildertse Duintjes, a relief-rich and varied forest with open spaces and heath remnants. At Brasserie de Wolf it is time for a break. Enjoy a meal on the cozy terrace, after which you cycle full of energy to Huijbergen. Here you see the Johanna, a corn mill from 1862. Via Landgoed de Wouwse Plantage and the village of Nispen you cycle back to the starting point.
