From the parking lot you immediately drive into the Krimpenerwaard. Here lies the largest slag landscape in the world. From the saddle you have a beautiful view over the mosaic of ditches, elongated grasslands and willows. This landscape was created during the Middle Ages by the gradual exploitation of raised bog. You pass the Schuurkerk Berkenwoude which is located next to the Reformed Church, a historical spot. On the Hollandse IJssel you see several monumental farms. The cozy Camping Streefland is also located here. Haastrecht is an old town, here you can see, among other things, the town hall from 1618. Then you drive through the picturesque countryside of Vlist, a little later you come through the old Schoonhoven. Here you can, among other things, take a look at the Waag from 1617, before you drive along the Lek back to Bergambacht.
