A figure eight by Gastel

Your route starts at Onder de Toren in Oud Gastel. The Land van Gastel lies between the rivers Mark and Vliet. The name is probably derived from Gestele, high ground between two watercourses. Nieuw Gastel was already lost in the 16th century due to flooding. Take a look at the village museum In de Drie Snoeken. Here, the local history society'Het land van Gastel\\\' beautifully illustrates the history of the village. There is a special room dedicated to the statues from the Laurentius church from before 1905, with a careful selection of the most beautiful and representative objects. The room with box bed is also nice to see. After a break at Restaurant Carpe Diem, you can take a nice walk through the countryside.
