Description
Your route starts at the Nieuwkerkse Hoeve, just over the Belgian border near Tilburg. Take your time to absorb the special surroundings and have a hot drink before putting on your walking shoes. You are immediately in the beautiful old forests of the Nieuwkerk estate. Sandy roads stretch through the forest, with a cobblestone road here and there. You will not see any asphalt here. That keeps it nice and quiet. You will see beautiful old farms, hidden in the greenery. In the Belgian part of the hamlet, a border church was built in 1652 where the Catholics from Tilburg practiced their faith. Hence the name. On the site of the border church you will now find the chapel of Sint-Jans-Gool. Also note the old border post!
