Tour of the lookout tower, forests and Orvelte

Your route starts at Camping Diana Heide, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee at Restaurant Diana Heide. You are in the middle of the forest here. First, you will make a beautiful trip through the vast and quiet Boswachterij Hooghalen. On your route, you will find a lookout tower to view the area from above: at junction 58. You will also drive through the Orvelterzand, a beautiful nature reserve with forests and damp heathland. Orvelte is located in the middle of the Drenthe esdorpen landscape. The village looks like an open-air museum given the many historical sights. In a number of old buildings, people show how, for example, sawyers, blacksmiths and glassblowers lived and worked in the past. Here you can still see the old crafts at work! On the Hoofdstraat in Zwiggelte you will see a few beautiful eighteenth-century farms.
