Tour of flower dikes near Nisse

Your route starts at Schaapskooi Zeeland. De Zak van Zuid-Beveland is a beautiful cultural landscape. So beautiful that it is part of the National Landscape Southwest Zeeland. With this route you will discover the charm of this area. The southern tip of Zuid-Beveland is best discovered from the many inner dikes. The small-scale landscape consists of a mix of polders, creeks and orchards. You will also see refuge hills, artificial hills that may have served as a basis for a motte. This beautiful area was slowly reclaimed from the sea by numerous small land reclamations. The monks of Saint Bavo from Ghent started this in the twelfth century, Beveland is therefore named after them. The pleasant town of Nisse, one of the most beautiful villages in Zuid-Beveland, is also on your route.
