Your route starts at Aan de Bock. In Munstergeleen, stop by the Chapel of Father Karel, in a half-timbered farm on the edge of the village. The visitors' centre, small museum and the quiet garden are free to enter. Stadspark Sittard dates from 1933. The area around Kasteel Amstenrade is beautiful with the surrounding historical buildings. Bie de Veldwachter is a nice stop for coffee or lunch! The highlight of the route (and the wider region) is Kasteel Hoensbroek. A motte already stood on this site around 1225. Due to its strategic location on the trade routes to Maastricht, Aachen and Cologne, this original castle developed into the largest castle between the Maas and Rhine. You cycle back to your starting point via the beautiful Geleenbeekdal.
