Your route starts at Eetcafe de Bosrand. The southwestern corner of Eijsden enjoys a protected village view, what a wonderful historical atmosphere you will find here! You pass Kasteel Eijsden, a national monument that is in the top 100 of Dutch UNESCO monuments. The current castle dates from 1637 and is completely moated. The castle is privately owned, you can only admire it from a distance. A little later you will see the Graanmolen van Eijsden along the Voer, a national monument. The watermill was originally built in 1788, but rebuilt in 1857 to prevent collapse. Just south of Eijsden you cross the Voer, which flows into the Maas nearby. At the village of Mesch you walk a long way parallel to the Belgian border. The landscape here undulates lovely.
