Description

At 28 km, the eighth stage is one of the longest stages of the Canadian liberators. You walk from Sprang-Capelle to Udenhout, right through the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Along the way, you pass three locations that tell you more about the Canadian liberators. The temporary Canadian cemetery at the Waalwijk station, the early Christmas celebration with the residents of Elshout and the Canadian soldiers among the Brabant nuns.


The Canadian liberation route runs in Brabant from Woensdrecht to Oss and is a total of 271 kilometers divided over 11 stages. Canadian soldiers played an important role in the liberation of the Netherlands in 1944-45. With this walking route you follow in their footsteps. From Zeeland, right through the Netherlands to Groningen. With well-known and unknown stories along the way.
