Akkermansbeek route

The Akkermansbeek route runs partly through Terborg and Gaanderen over the Paasberg and along Natuurpark Akkermansbeek and also largely over the country roads northeast of these two villages. Follow the red footprints.

Center Terborg

In addition to the main shopping street, the center in Terborg has a square with various catering establishments, the Sint Jorisplein. The offer varies from more classic establishments such as hotel-restaurant De Roode Leeuw to the modern cafe-bar De Compagnons and from grand-cafe Van der Eem to the colorful Lunchroom Met Liefde.

Akkermansbeek Nature Park

Nature park Akkermansbeek is located between the villages of Gaanderen and Terborg and is approximately five hectares in size. The design for the nature park is set up in such a way that nature is given every opportunity to develop and the recreational user has every opportunity to enjoy it. It consists of a walking and nature area and an animal and play meadow. A special play element is the climbing course that has been constructed in an existing pine forest. This course is freely accessible and consists of six climbing components.

Easter Mountain & House Wisch

The Paasberg in Terborg is a natural hill located between the Paasberglaan and't Veld in the southeast of Terborg. The mountain is an old river dune complex, blown up in the last ice age (10,000 to 13,000 years ago), when not the Oude IJssel, but a precursor of the Rhine flowed through the area.

In the past, the Paasberg was larger. The Paasberg then continued in a north-westerly direction and was probably connected to the hills of Gaanderen. During soil drilling, remains of the river dune were found in the centre of Terborg. This river dune complex is very rare and therefore of great geological value.

Today, the Paasberg is four hectares in size. The southwestern part of the nature reserve borders on the territory of Wisch Castle, the so-called"Wei van Wisch\\\". Huis Wisch Castle is privately owned. It can only be visited with special departures of the Iesselganger, an electric tour whisper boat that departs from the jetty at the DRU Industriepark in Ulft.

In the past, the Paasberg was bare and until 1921 there was a mill on the top. Nowadays, the Paasberg is overgrown with trees (many beeches) and there are three villas on the mountain.
