Your route through the Schoorlse Duinen starts in Groet. Along the way you will spot a few heathlands, a unique feature for the dunes. The heath can grow here because the sand is very low in lime. The landscape changes with the seasons, so it is worth walking here more often. In June and July the ground is covered with a white carpet of tens of thousands of flowering pine orchids. The heathlands turn a beautiful purple in August. Take a break at De Berenkuil, a cozy spot in the middle of nature. The Schoorlse Duinen are the highest and widest dunes in the Netherlands, you have a beautiful view at the top of the Duintrap Schoorlse Duinen. After a beautiful walk through the forest you walk back into Groet. At the Kerkbrink you can see the Witte Kerkje from 1639.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
