Tour of Arcen along the village and castle

Your route starts at the Arcense Herberg. From here you take a beautiful walk through the forests of Landgoed Arcen. It used to be part of Kasteel Arcen. You can still see beautiful lanes and the ice cellar of the castle. The beautiful nature of coniferous and deciduous forests makes it popular as a walking and cycling area. You also pass Kasteel Arcen, the gardens and the castle itself are fun to take in! Nearby you pass the Wijmarse Molen, a water mill from 677. Nowadays it houses a grain distillery. Arcen itself is also worth a visit. Remnants of the fortified past can still be seen in the modern cityscape. A fifteenth-century fortified tower was destroyed during the Eighty Years' War, the ruins are still there.
