To the Zoetermeerse Plas

To the Zoetermeer lakes and the goat farm
This cycle route starts at Avifauna in Alphen aan den Rijn and goes towards the organic farm'het Geertje\\\' in Zoetermeer. This farm is about 20 km away from Avifauna. A wonderful place to cycle to! There is a farm shop with dairy products and (goat) cheeses, you can give the goats a bottle yourself or rent a rowing boat. It is located at the Noord Aa, a beautiful lake in Zoetermeer. Here you can enjoy a nice picnic or take a dip to cool off when the weather is nice. On the way to Zoetermeer you pass two windmills, many meadows and cows. This immediately gives the area its typically Dutch character. Also very nice are the farmers and growers who offer their wares along the side of the road. For example, fresh eggs, homemade jams, fruits and flowers. The stalls are not manned, it is relied on that the appropriate amount is left in the appropriate money box. Packed with all kinds of goodies and perhaps a bunch of roses, you cycle via the picturesque Weipoort (Zoeterwoude) through the polders back to Avifauna.
