Your route starts at the Forelrivier Reuver. You walk through the forest to the Maas. You cross the water with a ferry. During the crossing you look out over the village of Kessel. Kessel is home to Keverberg Castle, a uniquely restored ruin. The medieval castle contrasts beautifully with the glass construction that shows the contours of the past. From the castle you have a beautiful view over the Maas, the fields and the forests. Also take a look at the Church of Our Lady's Nativity from 1872. It was designed by the Limburg architect Pierre Cuypers, known for the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. During the liberation of the southern part of the Netherlands in 1944, the church was largely destroyed, but after the war the church was restored to its former glory.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
