Your route starts at Forelrivier Reuver. From here you walk to the German border and the Brachter Wald. The forest gets closer as you walk. There used to be a white stone at De Witte Steen to mark the border, hence the name. Now it is a green border crossing, closed to cars. Wonderfully quiet! On the other side of the border you will find the Brachter Wald. Until the mid-nineties, the British army managed the largest ammunition depot in Western Europe in this area. After the military left, it became a protected nature reserve. The area is closed to motorized traffic. Nature has been able to go its own way undisturbed here for years, which is why you will find a lot of wildlife here. You walk along heathlands and pine forests, wonderful!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
