Museum cycle route IJlst-Sneek-Joure

With the help of this cycle route consisting of two loops you will discover 4 museums in Southwest Friesland, and perhaps even more art and culture along the way. During this route you will pass a ferry in Langweer. This ferry sails through the weekends of November!

You cycle from IJlst station to the historic centre of the Eleven Cities town, where you will find the Houtstad IJlst museum in a modern wooden block box on the water.

Then you take a beautiful bike ride along the water from De Geeuw to Sneek, where the Fries Scheepvaart Museum awaits you, where you can learn everything about boats, water and ice.

Are you finally done with it? Cycle on to the atmospheric village of Joure where you can visit Museum Joure, which is housed in beautiful historic buildings. Afterwards, cycle along the water back to Sneek station to take a look at the last museum of the day, the National Model Railway Museum. Then cycle back to the starting point in IJlst via the Oude Hemdijk.
