Walking route Wezepse Heide

After a delicious tasting or lunch at De Zeuven Heuvels, it is time for a nice walk through the Wezepse Heide. This nature reserve is located on a moraine in the ice age and has a rich flora and fauna. What is also striking is the peace! It is not without reason that animals such as red deer, roe deer, foxes and badgers live here. The slightly undulating path takes you through a mix of coniferous forests and heathlands. The heather plants are kept short by a herd of Scottish Highlanders. Grab a bench on the heath and enjoy the silence and the picturesque view. In some places you see circles with American oaks. Where this exotic species is cut down in other places, these tree circles remain here from a cultural-historical point of view. You walk back to the starting point via the Westerborkpad.
