Cycling through the forests around Heythuysen

Around Heythuysen it is wonderfully quiet cycling. On car-free roads you cycle past fields, grasslands and small forest plots. Just after junction 41 you enter the Leudal, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. You will find many deciduous trees and ferns here, and you will also cross the Leubeek a few times. The first time you see the ruins of the thirteenth-century Sint-Elisabethsmolen. A little later you will come across the Leumolen from 1773 in the middle of the forest. Take a bench here and enjoy the special surroundings. In Nunhem you will pass the Sint-Servatiuskerk with its striking fourteenth-century marl tower. Around Heibloem you cycle through several damp nature reserves, such as Waterbloem, which consists of forests, marshes and grasslands. At Mildershoof you can enjoy your beautiful bike ride on the terrace.
