Walking through the beautiful nature near Nederweert-Eind

Between Weert and Nederweert-Eind you can enjoy a lovely walk through an elongated fen area. Make sure you wear sturdy and waterproof shoes, because a large part of the route you walk on unpaved paths. First you go towards the Wellenstein estate. It used to be a production forest, in recent years the Limburgs Landschap has started to make it a more varied nature reserve. It is wonderfully quiet to walk here. A little later you walk through the Kwegt, a recently restored fen area. Then you enter the Sarsven and the Banen. These areas have never been drained or reclaimed. This makes them unique in a country where almost every square meter has been adapted by human hands. You will see special fen flora, dragonflies and water and marsh birds. The route ends with a cozy terrace at Mildershoof.
