Cycling through Delden, Bornebroek and Hengelo

The first kilometers will stretch your legs as you drive along a branch of the Twenthe Canal. This connection was dug in the 1930s as a job creation project. Raw materials for the Twente textile industry and coal from the Limburg mines were transported by water. On the Markt in Delden you will see some beautiful monumental buildings, such as the Oude Blasius Church, which originally dates from the sixteenth century. You drive through the forest and along the Twenthekanaal to Bornerbroek. At Bistro Le Primeur you can enjoy a delicious lunch, after which you cycle back into nature. Finally, the route takes you to the heart of Hengelo where you can take a look at the Basilica of St. Lambert. You will also pass through Tuindorp't Lansink, which enjoys a protected village view.
