Walking through the Kempen-Broek nature reserve

In the De Luysen reserve you will find several ponds that were created by peat extraction and underground peat fires. A little further on you walk past the Broekmolen. This water mill was built in 1738 to grind grain. The base of this route is Boshuis Nieuw Vosseven. Enjoy a pancake or another delicious meal here to replenish your energy supply after walking and take a breather. From this restaurant you have a beautiful view over the Vosseven in the Kempen-Broek nature reserve. This route takes you through an area that used to be mainly used as a hideout by goat riders and smugglers. Nowadays the area is a true paradise for hikers with varied landscapes and soothing tranquility.
