Tour of natural beauty around Haaksbergen

Your route starts at Camping Scholtenhagen. First cycle through the center of Haaksbergen to get acquainted with the Twente culture. Then you drive through the Haaksbergerveen, a raised bog area of over 600 hectares. Swampy raised bogs and heathlands alternate here with forests and grasslands on which sheep graze. Sundew, peat moss and cotton grass grow in this area. Take a good look around you and enjoy the beauty of nature in this area. A little further on you take a short trip across the German border and then cycle to Buurse. Between Buurse and Haaksbergen you cycle through the Buurserzand, a nature reserve with heathlands, grasslands and forests. The Het Lankheet estate is located south of Haaksbergen. This estate has a history that goes back no less than 800 years.
