Echtenerveld Tour from Koekange

Your route starts at Landgoed Welgelegen. From here you can easily cycle to the Echtenerveld, a large nature reserve with forest, heathland and fens. In the'Echtens Paradijs\\\', a heathland with a sand drift, the protected juniper grows. You will also pass two historic burial mounds. These were used in the past to bury the deceased and to honor the dead. Via the Gijsselterkoelen you cycle to the picturesque village of Echten. Here you go back in time with the centuries-old Saxon farms. The village is dominated by the beautiful manor Echten from the fifteenth century. At that time it was still a hall house, but in the eighteenth century it was converted into a house with two wings around a courtyard. Nowadays it is a workshop for the visually and mentally handicapped.
