The route starts at Bospark de Wervelwind. At the Ouwendorperhoeve you can see animals such as the Frisian milk sheep. A little further on you cycle along the Uddelermeer. Further on, take a break at Wildpark and Museum Aardhuis, in a former royal hunting chalet! From here you cycle to Hoog-Soeren. This characteristic hamlet is one of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. Around Kootwijk you cycle through rolling dense forests and heathlands where special plants such as heather spurry, rough hair moss and sand pine grow. You cycle back via the Caitwickerzand. In the nineteenth century, this nature reserve was still part of a large sand drift. By planting oaks and pines, among other things, the drifting sand came to lie in the lee, so that the sand became overgrown with mosses, heather, grasses and Scots pine.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
