Tour around Lochem

You start the route at Woodbrooke Barchem. Today you will take a nice tour around Lochem. Den Bramel Castle originally dates from the fourteenth century. The current country house was built in 1726. In the forests of Het Grote Veld you can cycle among the fragrant conifers. How quiet it is here! On the seventeenth-century Velhorst estate you will find not only forests but also arable fields, stately avenues, farmhouses with painted shutters and hedgerows. Near Groot Dochteren you can take a look at Huize't Ross, a beautiful monumental country estate. The history of Huis Ampsen dates back to 1105. The first castle and both houses on the estate were destroyed by the Spanish in 1605. In Barchem you pass the Dutch Reformed Church, a beautiful monument from 1861.
