Castle Amerongen
Amerongen Castle is the most beautiful castle on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug that is still furnished exactly as the last residents left it. The German Emperor Wilhelm II lived here for a year and a half before he left for Huis Doorn. He signed his abdication at Kasteel Amerongen. In the coming years, extra attention will be paid to the emperor's stay at Amerongen Castle.

Museum House Doorn
Huis Doorn is the official place of remembrance for the First World War in the Netherlands. From 1920 until his death in 1941, the German ex-Emperor Wilhelm II lives here in exile. The authentic interior of the house gives an impression of a regal living culture of international allure. The exhibition in the pavilion is devoted to the consequences of the First World War for the neutral Netherlands. In the extension of the exhibition pavilion temporary exhibitions, lectures and film presentations about the significance of the First World War for the modern Netherlands and for Europe will take place.
