Tour of Delden, Deldenerbroek and Twickel

This route takes you through the typical Twente coulisse landscape of forests, meadows and winding streams. Your tour starts at Pannenkoekerie In Den Markenrichter. You cycle over the moraine of Delden, which extends from the Twickel estate just above Delden to the area south of the Twente Canal. The cover sand relief here is still reasonably intact and representative. Beautiful to see! You pass through a number of rural hamlets with beautiful monumental farms, such as Deldenerbroek. Twickel Castle on the estate of the same name steals the show. It originally dates from the sixteenth century. On the estate you can admire a unique collection of citrus trees by Dutch standards in the orangery. So definitely get off here! There are also a number of sights in the neighbouring village of Delden, such as the Oude Blasiuskerk.
