Waterline Museum

Fort bij Vechten in Bunnik is one of the largest and most beautiful forts of the New Dutch Waterline. Here you will find the Waterline Museum. As you wander around the fortress, you can discover everything about the plants and animals that can be found there, the attack and defense and get to know the Romans who lived here long ago. There is also an exhibition about the First World War especially for young people in a school or family context. In this we pay attention to the life of the men on the forts and the inhabitants in the area of the New Dutch Waterline. 

Fort Rijnauwen

In the years 1914-1918, the New Dutch Waterline was put in a state of defense. At that time, shelters made of reinforced concrete, connecting trenches and smaller works were constructed around Rijnauwen, the largest fortress in our country. The impressive fortification is in almost original condition.
