Your route starts at MyHotel Meppel. You will soon enter the Wilhelminapark, with its characteristic tea house. This octagonal building with a thatched roof was built around 1840. It was a place to rest, to drink tea or play billiards, a typical status symbol for that time. The high windows provided an optimal view. A little further on is the De Weert mill. An active group of millers, or in good Drents mulders, provide nice products in the smallest shop in Meppel: flour, linseed oil, mustard and'vin du moulin\\\' for example. The De Vlijt mill is an impressive appearance with a flight of 21.80 metres. The'Grote Kerk\\\' or'Maria Kerk\\\' dominates the cityscape of Meppel. The church dates from the 15th century. You walk back along the nice Stoombootkade/
