Cycling route Raamsdonksveer, Lage Zwaluwe and the Biesbosch

Your route starts at Cafe ons Thuis. You immediately drive through the fortified town of Geertruidenberg. This city was given market rights as early as 1213. Take a walk here on the picturesque Market Square with its many old merchant houses! In Drimmelen you will find the Biesbosch Visitor Center of Staatsbosbeheer near the harbor, where you can learn more about the Biesbosch. In Lage Zwaluwe you take the ferry to De Biesbosch National Park, an idyllic landscape consisting of reedlands and creeks. Get off in the middle of the nature reserve at the Biesbosch Museum Island, a beautiful modern museum with a visitor center. Here you can see how people lived in the Biesbosch for centuries. The nature reserve is unique: it is one of the few freshwater areas in the world where there is an ebb and flow.
