Description
You start and end this varied walking route at the De Warandepoort Visitor Center, where you can find information about the area and the Tervuren Park. The Park of Tervuren, also known as the Warande of Tervuren, is one of the Flemish gateways to the Zonien Forest. You walk through dense forests, past elegant French gardens, ponds and flowerbeds.
On this walking route you will pass several sights:
- The baroque St. Hubertus Chapel.
- The Panquin Barracks, a former military horseshoe complex.
- The'Ze Window\\\', where several paths come together and where Duisburg's Dolmen Stone can be admired.
- The ruins of the Gatehouse Hof Ter Munck, slightly hidden but definitely worth deviating from the route around the Vossemvijver and walking 50 meters into the forest.
- The Gordaelmolen (The Spanish House), a restored mill house in the middle of the Tervuren park.
- The Africa Museum, with a unique collection from the former colonies in Central Africa.
