This city walk starts and ends at walking junction 12 at Dendermonde train station.
The walk starts with an exploration of the city parks of Dendermonde and then follows the banks of the Oude Dender. Halfway along the route you walk into the city centre, where you can admire numerous medieval buildings on the Grote Markt, such as the Belfry and the Vleeshuis with its museum. This is the ideal place for a snack or drink.
Via the Oude Sas over the Oude Dender you then pass a beautiful large pond at the Brussels Forts, a true oasis of peace. This route combines the best of both urban and natural beauty, perfect for a relaxing and fascinating walk.
