Your route starts at Down Town Wehl. Today you will enjoy historical places. In Angerlo you will pass the Saint Gallus Church from the twelfth century. Doesburg is one of the most beautifully preserved medieval towns in the Netherlands, here you will find the Lalique Museum. Northwest of Doetinchem you will find a very cool and rare forest area with river dunes and fens: the Kruisbergse forests. Very special also because of the differences in height. A large part of the Kruisbergse forests belongs to the medieval Landgoed Hagen. The oldest mention of Doetinchem dates from 838. The fortified city of Deutinkem was then provided with city walls and city gates. Watermill Laag-Keppel was built in the 19th century as a corn mill. The impressive Keppel castle, built of red brick, stands on an island in the Oude IJssel.
