Tour of Markelo and Pothoek

Your route starts at Esch Camping Kaampert. You can immediately enjoy the surrounding farmland to the fullest. Then you walk straight into the forest. Lots of variety in such a short distance! A little later you will find dozens of national monuments in Markelo, including farms, outbuildings, estates and graveyards. Eungs Schoppe Museum Farm houses a beautiful collection of traditional costumes from the period 1820-1940. You will also see a beautifully furnished kitchen/diner with a box bed. You can choose your explanation in Dutch or Low Saxon, nice to hear! The rolling landscape around Markelo is formed by ash trees and five hills. This provides beautiful views. In the authentic farming landscape of the Pothoek you can sample the atmosphere at Herberg De Pot before walking back to your starting point.
