Tour of Stokkum, Beek and Kilder

Your route starts at Braamt, close to the Stroombroek recreation area. The lake is beautifully situated at the foot of the Montferland hills. On car-free roads you cycle through a coulisse landscape of fields, meadows, streams and wooded banks. Via Azewijn you cycle to 's-Heerenberg. Here you can visit the medieval castle Huis Bergh, surrounded by a moat and an old fortification wall. It is worth it, if only for the famous portrait gallery from the 15th and 16th centuries. A little further on you cycle past the Princessebosje. Along the way you regularly see an old Saxon farm. This way you come through the protected village view of Stokkum, the old farms give the town a wonderful atmosphere of its own. In this hamlet you can still taste the atmosphere of times gone by!
