Montferland, Gelderland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 4737352
Provided by: Stichting Montferland Marketing
Your route today starts in Beek. After a beautiful winding path through the idyllic coulisse landscape, you will arrive in Didam, with its beautiful village church from the fifteenth century. On the edge of Didam lies Havezate De Luynhorst, a nice place to take a break. There was already a country house here in the fourteenth century. The current building looks more like a farm than a country estate. In the countryside, you can immediately make some wonderful kilometres, while you cycle on car-free roads between the meadows and fields. You pass the corn mill at Nieuw-Wehl, the Bernadette from 1861. Close to junction 44 in Kilder, you will pass a hail cross: an old Catholic custom to ward off evil spirits, so that the crops are not damaged by hail. You cycle back via Loerbeek.
