Description
The starting and ending point of this route is walking junction 15 near Zillebeke, a sub-municipality of the city of Ypres.
The route takes you through the Provincial Domain De Palingbeek with Molenbos and the Vierlingen forest, an area with a rolling and wooded landscape.
On this route you walk along the Caterpillar, a mine crater with a diameter of 79 meters and a depth of 15.5 meters. Bomb craters and deformed, truncated trees are silent witnesses of the violence of war.
Also visit the Hill 60 estate, with its boardwalk, concrete bunkers, shelters and trench structures.
