The start and end point of this walking route is located below Assebroek, in the province of West Flanders and a sub-municipality of the provincial capital Bruges.
The route takes you via the Ghent-Bruges Canal through a number of parks in Assebroek, including: the De Zeven Torentjes petting zoo, which is located around a historic farm.
In the Assebroekse Meersen Nature Reserve you will find moist meadows and hay fields surrounded by pollard willows and poplars.
Further on you pass the Steenbrugse groves after which you can admire the St. Peter's Abbey Church in the hamlet of Steenbrugge.
Boots or sturdy footwear are recommended in rainy weather.
