Description
The start and end point of this walking route is on the outskirts of Ghent, at the Levende Leie - De Bourgoyen visitor centre, housed in the Jan Huble Nature and Environment Centre. Ghent, the capital and largest city centre of the province of East Flanders.
The route takes you through the Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen, a vast nature reserve of 230 hectares, largely located in the sub-municipality of Mariakerke. This area consists mainly of damp grasslands, intersected by ditches and canals, and is an ideal place to spot birds, despite its proximity to the city.
