Molsbroek route

The Molsbroek route starts and ends in Lokeren near the beautiful market square where you can have a drink on a terrace before or after the walk.

In Lokeren you can admire many beautiful historical buildings in the centre, such as the St. Laurentius Church, the City Museum and the Old Post Office.

Along the river Durme, which lies north of the city, you walk around the nature reserves Buylaersmeersen, Groot Molsbroek and Hagemeersen, a paradise for bird watchers.

At the pumping station with a fish ladder at the dam you reach the other side of the Durme and walk back to Lokeren city.

The route can be extended and takes you around the Hamputten, a breeding bird island and part of the Groot Molsbroek nature reserve.
