Description
The route starts and ends at hiking junction 30 in the hamlet of Terwest in Moerbeke, located on the Moervaart. South of the village centre of Moerbeke you will find the nature reserve Turfmeersen, an area in the Moervaart depression.
Via the Zuidledebeek you walk to Eksaarde, along the Domain't Meersdael with its historical bunkers near the castle domain. The route takes you through the nature reserve De Linie, where you pass the Durmemeer. This area is ideal for spotting birds and other fauna and flora.
On the way back along the Moervaart you will pass a drawbridge and you will have the opportunity to visit the centre of Moerbeke.
The route is fully signposted with hiking junctions.
On wet rainy days, boots or sturdy shoes are recommended.
