The Forest Route starts and ends at hiking junction 13 where you can park in the Drongengoedbos, the largest forest in the province of East Flanders.
The walk takes you through the Maldegemveld, a varied nature reserve with heathland, oak-birch forests and agricultural fields. Along the way you might spot fallow deer or Galloway cattle. At the Maldegemveld viewing hill you have a beautiful view of this unique nature reserve.
For wet rainy days, boots or sturdy shoes are recommended.
The route is fully signposted with hiking junctions, which makes it easy to follow the route.
