Between the Large and Small Ponds

The starting and ending point of this walk is in Muizen, a sub-municipality of Mechelen, where you can find more information about the area in the Mechelen River Area Visitor Centre.

The route runs along two ponds: the Grote Vijver, part of the recreation area De Nekker, and the Kleine Vijver, located in the nature reserve Mechels Broek. Boots or sturdy shoes are recommended because of the sometimes muddy paths.

Further on you walk through the Barebeek valley, where most paths are paved, making the route also suitable for wet days.
