Between the Large and Small Ponds

The start and end point of this walk is in Muizen, a sub-municipality of Mechelen, where you can find more information about the area in the Mechels Rivierengebied Visitor Center.

The route passes two ponds: the Grote Vijver, part of the De Nekker recreational area, and the Kleine Vijver, located in the Mechels Broek nature reserve. Boots or sturdy shoes are recommended because of the sometimes boggy paths.

Further on you walk through the Barebeek valley, where most paths are paved, making the route also suitable for wet days.
