Description
The start and end point of this route is the visitor center Visitor Center De Wissen, a unique location to explore the Maas Valley. Here you will find extensive information about the area. Explore the area on foot, by bike, with a whisper boat, or enjoy a quiet overnight stay on a camping raft on the Oude Maas - it's all possible here.
In the former gravel extraction area, now the Negenoord-Kerkeweerd nature reserve, Konik horses and Galloway cattle provide open spaces, flower-rich grasslands and groves. This makes it an ideal place for butterflies, bees and other unique fauna and flora.
Enjoy beautiful views over the Maas Valley from the Nenenoord-Kerkeweerd lookout tower or from the bird viewing points.
