Along the way you walk over the Wijngaardsbeekje along the Wilgenpad through open fields.
In various places you will come across chapels and many of them are painted blue.
A little further on lies Kasteel Den Ast. The castle was built in the early 20th century in French style, with a striking watchtower that was built during the First World War and rises high above the domain. The castle is also known as Kasteel de Gerlache.
After the Bekemolen you end up in the green valley of the Rooigemsebeek nature reserve, with a rich fauna and flora to end the walk in Mullem.
