From Oostkerke to Damme

This walk starts near the Sint-Quintinus Church in Oostkerke. Just outside this village you pass the Oostkerke castle grounds. The route follows the paths along the Leopold Canal and the Schipdonk Canal.

In Damme, a fortified city with a typical star shape and many historic buildings, the Nature Reserve d\\\'Oude Schaapskooi is located on the Damse Vaart West. Here you will find forests, reed fields and moist meadows. Further on is the Burnt Fort, a former fort that is now a nature reserve, accessible via a bridge over the Rombautswerve stream.

Walk further and pass a bunker on your left before returning to Oostkerke over the two canals. Along the way you will come across a mill remnant, the Oude Molen, near Zuidbroekstraat.
