From Oostkerke to Damme

This walk starts near the Sint-Quintinus church of Oostkerke. Just outside this village you will pass the Kasteeldomein van Oostkerke. The route follows the paths along the Leopoldkanaal and the Schipdonkkanaal.

In Damme, a fortified town with a typical star shape and many historical buildings, lies the Nature Reserve d\\\'Oude Schaapskooi on the Damse Vaart West. Here you will find forest, reed fields and wet meadows. Further on lies the Verbrand Fort, a former fort that is now a nature reserve, accessible via a bridge over the Rombautswerve stream.

Continue walking and pass a bunker on your left before returning to Oostkerke over the two canals. Along the way you will come across a mill remnant, the Oude Molen, near the Zuidbroekstraat.
