The white village route

The starting point of this route is at the train station of Lissewege. Stop for a moment at Schuur Abdij Ter Doest, a former Cistercian abbey of which now only the Gothic barn, a dovecote and a monumental entrance gate remain.

After the Chapel Ter Doest you walk past a meadow bird reserve, after which you walk through Lissewege again and can explore the Church of Our Lady of the Visitation and the picturesque white village.

You continue your walk along the Lisseweegs Vaartje to Zwankendamme, where you can admire the church of Saint Leo the Great, before returning to Lissewege.
