The white village route

The starting point of this route is at the Lissewege train station. Stop at Schuur Abdij Ter Doest, a former Cistercian abbey of which now only the Gothic barn, a pigeon tower and a monumental entrance gate remain.

After the Ter Doest Chapel you walk past a meadow bird reserve after which you walk through Lissewege again and explore the Church of Our Lady of the Visitation and the picturesque white village.

Along the Lisseweegs Vaartje you continue your walk to Zwankendamme, where you can admire the church of Saint Leo the Great, and then return to Lissewege.
