Cycling route Montfort, Stevensweert and Maasbracht

From Montfort you drive along car-free roads into Roerdalen: a region where fields, grasslands and forests alternate. At junction 6 in Gebroek you pass the Sint-Annakapel from 1896, in Echt you can take a look at Sint-Landricus Church. In the Bovenstestraat you drive past the nineteenth-century Carmelite Monastery. The German philosopher and Carmelite woman Edith Stein stayed here until her deportation in 1942. On the Island in the Maas you can see the sixteenth-century Hasselholt castle on the edge of Ohe, and further on is the Hompesche Mill from 1722. In the former fortress of Stevensweert you can enjoy Enjoy a drink and snack at't Aod Kloaster, after which you drive to Maasbracht. Here you see the Leonardusmolen from 1864. You cycle along the Linnerweerd, further on you pass through the beautiful old Munningsbos.
