Tour Echt, Stevensweert and Maasbracht

From Echt you drive to the Island in the Maas. There is plenty of natural beauty to experience here. And cultural history: for example, you will pass the sixteenth-century Hasselholt castle, popularly known as Het Geudje. The castle has a striking Maasland Renaissance facade from 1651. In Laak you will see some beautiful farms and the monumental St. Anne's Chapel from 1896. Further on you drive past the Molenplas, which was created by gravel extraction around the Oude Maas. Part of the picturesque Stevensweert enjoys a protected cityscape, and you can still recognize the former fortifications in the street pattern. Via Maasbracht you drive to Reigersbroek, an old swamp and peat area. There is a lookout tower that you can walk to for a panoramic view of the area. At Davvero Bistro you can enjoy a snack on the cozy terrace.
