The ancient Waverwoud
The starting point of this cycling tour is located between the rivers Kleine Nete and Grote Nete, near the city of Lier. From here you cycle a bit along the course of the Grote Nete and then you set course for the village of Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-Waver. Along the way you cycle through various forests of the Waverwoud nature reserve. In the early Middle Ages, this area consisted of an inaccessible forest area full of swamps. Some of these forests have been preserved and today they are easily accessible for cyclists and walkers. Enjoy the green nature around you and the tranquility here. You then cycle past Sint-Katelijne-Waver and through Duffel back to the starting point of the route.

Brasserie't Oud Lier
The base of this route is Brasserie't Oud Lier. This is the perfect place to end your bike ride with a snack and a drink. Choose one of the delicious dishes from the menu or go for one of the monthly suggestions and let yourself be pampered at the brasserie. Enjoying a cup of coffee or a specialty beer is also possible here.

Places of interest in Lier
At the end of the route you cycle through the center of Lier where you will find, among other things, a beguinage that is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Zimmertoren with an artful clock is also worth a look and you will also find the Timmermans-Opsomerhuis, a museum about the history of Lier, and the Municipal Museum Wuyts-Van Campen and Baron Caroly with a beautiful art collection.
